The 67th Annual PAASCU General Assembly, held on November 22, 2024, at Conrad Manila, Pasay City, was an inspiring gathering of leaders and education professionals united under the theme “Quality Assurance in a Changed Time.”
The morning session started with the welcome remarks and state of PAASCU for fiscal year 2023-2024 by the President, Br. Edmundo Fernandez, FSC. Atty. Joseph Noel M. Estrada of Estrada & Aquino Law presented the revised articles of incorporation and by-laws and submitted these for approval by the body. Following this, Dr. Carmelita I. Quebengco, Chair of the PAASCU Board of Trustees Planning Committee, presented the PAASCU Strategic Plan for 2025-2030. The morning concluded with the 2024 James J. Meany, SJ Service Awards recognizing outstanding accreditors who have served in numerous survey visits, and the Loyalty Service Awards presented to two dedicated PAASCU staff members for their unwavering commitment.
The afternoon was filled with insightful learning sessions. Dr. Maria Cynthia Rose Bautista, an EDCOM II Advisory Council member, discussed the Disruptive Future, Lifelong Learning, and Quality Assurance. Dr. Arnulfo P. Azcarraga, University Fellow at De La Salle University, Manila, delved into New Technologies in Teaching-Learning and Quality Assurance, offering valuable insights into the role of technology in enhancing educational practices.
The event was a resounding success, with 730 guests from PAASCU member schools in attendance. It facilitated collaboration and deepened PAASCU’s commitment to quality and quality assurance.
