The training for new team chairs of the various tertiary education programs, graduate education, and medical education was delivered by PAASCU on July 22, 2022, with the participation of 32 accreditors. The half-day event began with an opening prayer provided by Dr. Joy Zapata, followed by Mr. Ricardo Palo, the Executive Director, who gave a welcome address. He praised the accreditors for continuing to support the association and for investing the time in receiving team chair training.
The training was conducted by Professor Leonida Africa, Chair of the Commission on Tertiary Education. She discussed a review of PAASCU’s accreditation procedure, the duties of the Survey Team and the Survey Team Chairs, drafting follow-up activities, area reports, and the chairman’s report, among other things. At the end of the exercise, there was a Question-and-Answer session where participants may voice any reservations about taking on the position of team chair.
