PAASCU Strategic Planning
From August 1-3, 2024, the PAASCU Board of Trustees, representatives from the nine Commissions, and the Secretariat convened at the Marco Polo Ortigas for the PAASCU Strategic Planning for FY 2024-2027. The primary goal of the event was to craft a Strategic Plan that includes a revised vision and mission statement, strategic goals, and initiatives for the five years from SY 2024-2025 to SY 2029-2030. This plan is based on various inputs and action plans necessary for achieving these goals and initiatives, with a focus on the organizational structure.
The first day began with an opening prayer led by Sr. Ma. Marissa R. Viri, RVM, PAASCU BOT Vice-President, followed by a welcome address from the BOT President, Br. Edmundo L. Fernandez, FSC. After lunch, Dr. Carmelita I. Quebengco led the participants to review the status of the Strategic Plan of 2021-2024.
The second and third days began with a Eucharistic Celebration presided over by Fr. Antonio S. Samson, SJ. and Fr. Francisco T. Estepa, SVD. Input sessions in the crafting of the new strategic plan included Sr. Marissa Viri, RVM who shared about the current accreditation standards and processes of PAASCU, including the summary of evaluation results of past accreditation visits. Dr. Carmela Oracion and Dr. Maria Cynthia Bautista discussed EDCOM-Relevant Issues related to Basic Education and Higher Education, respectively, including the impact of the issues on Quality Assurance, and Accreditation. Dr. Jocelyn D.R. Andya and Dr. Arnulfo P. Azcarraga shared the emerging issues and challenges, both global and local, to Philippine education and quality assurance.
On the final day, the group focused on aligning the vision and mission statements and discussed the need to align PAASCU’s organizational structure with the strategic initiatives identified.
