Rep. Jose Francisco “Kiko” Benitez, congressman of the Third District of Negros Occidental, is appointed as the Executive Director General of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA). The Presidential Communications Office notes that Rep. Benitez brings a “wealth of experience in education, development, and public service,” citing his previous roles as chair of the House Committee on Housing and Urban Development and as a commissioner on the Second Congressional Commission on Education (EDCOM 2).

Rep. Benitez started as a PAASCU accreditor for graduate education programs in 2015. He contributed to evaluating and enhancing the quality of academic institutions, ensuring they meet rigorous standards. His involvement with PAASCU reflects his commitment to advancing educational excellence, which he now brings to his new role at TESDA.
